The Experience
This is a big one and you’ve reached the pinnacle of your training. You’ll spend time practising and preparing with our team for your ocean reef photoshoot. When your big day arrives your professional underwater photographer will capture you gliding effortlessly in the ocean, playing with fish and sea life.
This shoot is our signature offering and is best suited to mermaids who are comfortable in the open water and who want perfection in their fine art photos and videos to adorn their homes and for their social media.

Who is your preferred operator for reef access?
If a third party is required to access the reef systems then we prefer to use operators with perfect safety records and professional staff. We are well-connected in the diving industry and will use only the best to ensure your shoot goes swimmingly!
Who will my photographer be?

Will there be other mermaids on my shoot?
This shoot is your private shoot (1 mermaid, 1 photographer, 1 safety diver), unless you book multiple mermaids to participate in your photoshoot. At some locations where boat trips are required, you will travel on a communal tourism boat to the reef location.
Will there be other guests on boats we may use?
Yes. At this price, there will be other customers on the boat. Private trips are available at an additional cost. Please enquire as to the price if you would prefer a private charter.
Is there a video available, of my photoshoot?
You can select to have a photoshoot video filmed and edited as an additional add-on. The video content will be collected by the photographer during your photoshoot experience, edited into a 2 minute portfolio and delivered alongside your photographs.
We can include a professional videographer in this photoshoot should you want to capture your incredible feat in way more detail, including the build up to the big day. You’ll receive Reels and many other benefits of having a two person photographic team. Please ask for a quote if you want more than the basic video your still photographer will be able to shoot from a GoPro while she is attending to your stills photos.
Do I need another person with me to assist?
No, as part of this photoshoot Making Mermaids will provide a dedicated and qualified safety diver to assist you throughout the experience.
