We can arrange a magical photoshoot for you, where a professional underwater photographer will capture stunning shots of you swimming and posing in a pool with custom backdrops. Beforehand, the expert will meet with you to discuss your options, walk you through pose variations, and ensure you’re fully prepared.

What you need to know
Where is the photoshoot pool?
Making Mermaids’ dedicated photographic pool is located in Birkenhead, Auckland, at our ‘Mermaid Grotto’. However, we can travel to and photograph you at your private pool if the pool water is clean and the depth is over 1.80m.
What is excluded in the price?
Not included
- Travel costs (petrol) to and from photoshoot site
- Accommodation and catering (if required)
Optional add-ons
- Photoshoot make-up by professional makeup artist
- Edited video from the photoshoot
- Fine art editing (e.g. composites, AI )- Please enqure for more information.

Who will my photographer be?

Will there be other mermaids on my shoot?
This shoot is your private potographic shoot (1 mermaid, 1 photographer, 1 assistant), unless you book multiple mermaids to participate in your photoshoot.
Can I invite friends?
Yes. Of course, you may. Note that if your friends want photos with you then they will need to be booked as added ‘participants’ and will receive edited photographs also.
Is there a video available, of my photoshoot?
You can select to have a photoshoot video filmed and edited as an additional add-on. The photographer collects the video during your photoshoot experience, we edit it into a 2-minute portfolio and deliver it alongside your photographs.
Do I need another person with me to assist?
No, as part of this photoshoot Making Mermaids will provide a dedicated and qualified safety diver /assitant to assist you throughout the experience. You are welcome to bring along friends or family.
